Londonderry blows past Timberlane

PLAISTOW — Londonderry football rushed for a combined 211 yards to race past Timberlane 27-7 on Friday night, with the defense holding the Owls scoreless until the fourth quarter.

Jeff Wiedenfeld led the way with 99 yards rushing and a touchdown on 25 carries. He got the scoring started with a 4-yard run in the first quarter, giving the Lancers a 7-0 lead that held going into halftime.

Londonderry increased its lead to 14-0 after quarterback Michael McAlister found Pat Zepf for an 8-yard touchdown pass with 4:38 to play in the third. Timberlane answered with a 3-yard run by Farai Zhou early in the fourth quarter, but the Lancers came back with short touchdown runs by McAlister and Jacob Dionne to put the game away.

Londonderry (2-0) hosts Nashua North on Friday, while Timberlane (0-2) is at Bishop Guertin next Saturday.
