Behind another team-leading victory from Jason Steele, Pentucket rolled to a 146-127 triumph over host Rockport. Steele is a perfect 11-0 for the Sachems (6-5), piling up 366 total points this season.

North Andover made the long trip to Rockport worthwhile with a convincing 153-148 victory. Dan Daley and Ross Boyle tied as high scorers for the Scarlet Knights (6-2) with 28 points with Bob Berman close behind with 26 points.

Led by Jason Steele's 36-point effort, Pentucket grabbed its first golf victory of the young season, 140-114 over Manchester Essex at Bradford Country Club.

"Jason's a very consistent player," said coach Jayne Beaton. "He's always shooting in the mid-30's for nine holes."

The Vikings prevailed over their Cape Ann League rivals, led by Paul Robinson (32 points), Phil MacArthur (28) and Kyle Keating (25). The Hornets were led by Mike Dodge (26 points), Zeke Gillette (23) and Alex Porter (23).

The day after compiling its best point total of the season, Rockport (4-10) stumbled to its lowest score of the season. Competing at Carriage Pines in Rowley, the Vikings were led by Paul Robinson (22 points), Jeff Piraino (17), Phil MacArthur (15), Brendan Wall (11), Caleb Tanson (10), Pat Frithsen (8).

The Clippers (9-4) jumped that much closer to becoming CAL Division II champs yesterday, as they edged out the Manchester-Essex Hornets, 137-124. Ben Tyler (26), Jeff Wile (26), Tom Morris (24), Sam Jordan (23), Cam Caldwell (21), and Ryan Cutter (18) led the way for Newburyport.

After a somewhat slow start to the season (3-4), the Fishermen (9-4) have ripped off six straight wins after their latest victory at Bass Rocks over the Vikings.

When asked about his team's recent hot streak, Gloucester coach Bob MacEachern pointed out, "different guys have been pitching in. Salah has been winning by a lot. The players kids down the end of the order have won which shows that the team depth has been good."

The Fishermen picked up a much needed win improving their record to 7-4 on the season. Josh Salah lead the way for Gloucester shooting a one under par 34. Mackenzie Quinn and Ben Mosse also played well for Gloucester shooting a 37 and 39 respectively while Tyler Quince and Artie Choate won their matches.

Senior captain Paul Robinson shot a 1-under par 34 to score 38 points for the Vikings (3-7). Phil MacArthur added 25 points and Dave Campbell scored 21 points. 

The Amesbury Indians (4-8) pulled out a close win over the visiting Manchester-Essex Hornets (4-7), 132-128. Joe Kezer (34), James Cashman (23), Dylan Powers (22), Sean Ward (18), Troy Eaton (18), and Jon Fournier (17) were the leading scorers for the Indians. Seventh grader Miles Wood led the Hornets from the eight spot with 27 points.

The Manchester Essex golf team was handed a heart breaking loss against Hamilton-Wenham yesterday. With the score tied after the top six scorers, the tie breaker was determined from the next highest scorer on each team, in which the Generals had a one point advantage. Zeke Gillette was the top scorer for the Hornets with 31 points, Erik Ferm, Connor Howlett and Miles Wood tallied 27, 25 and 24 respectively.

Josh Salah fired a 38 to lead the way for the Fishermen (5-4). Arthur Choate, Tyler Quince, Sean Kennedy and Geoff Kennedy also played well for Gloucester.

Pentucket's Vito Martello had a big day on the links. On the par 4 seventh hole, he croaked a 289-yard drive that landed on the green. He one-putted to notch an Eagle. Martello shot a 39 to lead Pentucket past Rockport.
