The Triton golf team started the season in the win column Tuesday, beating Manchester Essex 133-113 at the Essex Country Club. Reigning Daily News MVP Cael Kohan led the way with 32 points, Nick Ritchie had 26 points and Rick Gardella had 24 points.

The Newburyport golf team improved to 7-2 on the season by beating Rockport 141-102. Jacob Grossi-Hogg was the medalist on the day with 30 points and Michael Twomey added 29 in the win.

Gloucester golf makes it six in a row with win over Winthrop

After a somewhat slow start to the season (3-4), the Fishermen (9-4) have ripped off six straight wins after their latest victory at Bass Rocks over the Vikings.

When asked about his team's recent hot streak, Gloucester coach Bob MacEachern pointed out, "different guys have been pitching in. Salah has been winning by a lot. The players kids down the end of the order have won which shows that the team depth has been good."
