First varsity goal

Georgetown's Aidan Maguire scored his first career varsity goal, blasting a shot to the top corner to help lead the Royals to a 3-0 win over Rockport. Michael Lundquist extended the lead late in the first half and James Mozzer added a third to seal the deal. Brendan Willis made 12 saves in net and players like Kenny Laurent, Jensen Packard, Jim Doucette and Coty Angelopoplous had great games as well.

With the game tied 1-1 with 10 minutes to play in the second half, Pentucket boys soccer exploded for four goals to race past Manchester Essex 5-2. Liam McDonough scored two goals and Pat Dillon, Mike Armao and Jake Dickson each had one.

Shooter's touch

Pentucket waited until the last minute to score the lone goal of the game and beat Rockport 1-0. The play started when Jacob Dezeil got a nice pass from Liam McDonough at the edge of the 18-yard box. Everyone, including the Rockport defenders, thought Deziel was going to shoot, but he instead fed a nice pass through two defenders to a streaking Morgan Capener who slid it past the goalie for the goal.

Brendan Sullivan and Connor Beaton continue to power the Pentucket boys soccer team. Sullivan had a goal and an assist in a 3-1 victory over Rockport while Beaton scored twice. Both are among the league leaders in points as Sullivan has 13 goals and three assists and Beaton checkes in with 10 goals and seven assists.

In a battle of top of the top boys soccer teams in the Cape Ann League, Pentucket rallied from a 1-0 halftime lead to defeat Rockport 2-1. Sean Keegan and Mike Salmonsen scored for the Sachems (8-2-1) and both Dylan Wright and Ryan Beaton stood out on defense.

Just like this year's regular-season nail-biter, North Reading boys soccer went toe-to-toe with a strong Rockport squad in the playoffs.

Unfortunately, a Rockport player was able to get to a free kick before the Hornets did, heading the ball in midway through the second half for a 1-0 victory.
