Another hat for Matt

After a three-goal effort against Amesbury, Georgetown's Matt Bitchell went off for another hat trick in a 5-2 victory over a tourney-bound Rockport squad. Ryan Browner, who opened the scoring for the Royals (4-7-3), spotted a perfect pass for Bitchell early in the second half for the eventual game-winner.

Brothers four

Brothers Gareth and Evan Dudney were responsible for all the goal scoring in North Andover's 4-0 shutout of Manchester-Essex. Senior Gareth netted a hat trick while freshman Evan took a feed from his brothers and notched the Scarlet Knights' second score.

Danvers 2, Gloucester 2

two late goals: down 0-2. Frank Freedman, senior outside midfielder. Chris Horne senior left outside midfield (first varsity goal).

Fishermen, 1-1. all season, we've been in every game. Swampscott we had a goal called back, they would have been the champions. missed a PK in the first half. that's kinda the way our season has been, missed three penalties. 3-5-7, +1 goal differential. 3-6-9, -2. we've been competitive in every game, we've tied a lot of teams that are going to the tournament. taken a lot of teams to the brink. results haven't gone our way.

With nothing to play for but pride, the Fishermen (3-6-9 overall, 3-5-7 in the NEC) saved one of their finest performances of the season for the last game. Most impressively, Gloucester was down 2-0 on the road in the second half before making its comeback.

After losing to Marblehead 3-0 in their first meeting of the season, the Fishermen (3-6-8) had a better result this time around but it wasn't the win they needed to keep their tournament hopes alive. Gloucester has two more games and they had to win out to qualify for the tournament.

 Pentucket took a 1-0 lead into the half before Rockport (3-7-5) junior tri-captain and forward Michael Emerson received a nice through ball from freshman center back A.J. Burnham and tied it up. Unfortunately, the Sachems got the game-winner with 11 minutes left and the Vikings had chances but couldn't convert.

The Fishermen (3-6-7) had their share of chances at home but couldn't find the back of the net. Senior sweeper Brett Davis and senior stopper Massimo Delisi did a good job winning everything in the air and keeping the middle clear. To make the tournament, Gloucester now faces three must-win games, starting with at Marblehead on Tuesday.

North Andover put on a scoring display yesterday against Manchester Essex as four players registered at least a single score. Jorge Nunez and John Carney had two goals apiece, Ryan McCormick had a goal and two assists, and Gareth Dudney added another goal to cap the scoring. Keeper Mike Levy had seven saves to earn the shutout.
