Revenge for Knights


North Andover's girls ski team avenged a rare loss to Masconomet earlier in the season with a 73-62 victory to move into a tie for first in the North Shore Ski League with an 11-1 record. Jane Freund finished fourth for the Knights but the key was an impressive ninth-place finish by Claudia Mabley.

Schwalm wins again


North Andover's Sydney Schwalm won her second straight North Shore Ski League race by a comfortable half of a second as North Andover's girls rolled to two more wins. Andover's Anna Souter and Haverhill's Jana Lorendo.

Knights zoom on snow


Led by the Cavallaro sisters, Maria and Rachel, who took the top two places, the North Andover girls rolled to wins over Andover and Manchester-Essex on the first day of the North Shore League season. Also, Cameron Deery was third overall for the Knights.

Knights flex their muscles

North Andover took top honors, Andover grabbed second and surprising Georgetown third at the seven-team Interscholastic Ski Championship. The Royals are a first-year squad who will be admitted to the North Shore League officially next winter. Super soph Rachel Cavallaro from North Andover was the overall winner while Andover's Cailey Denoncourt grabbed fourth.

Knights hit slopes


North Andover's talented grls skiing team started its seasonlike it ended it last year, with a pair of wins, over Manchester-Essex and Andover. Rachel Cavallaro led the way in first place at Bradford with a run of 23.66. Andover's Olivia Lawler was second at 24.25.

Faigel fantastic

Sara Faigel was the individual winner (23.08) to help Andover win 77-58 over Mascomomet in girls skiing.

North Andover, meanwhile, stayed perfect at 6-0 as it beat Austin Prep 122-13 behind a second-overall individual finish behind Maria Cavallaro (23.25).

Twin terrors

North Andover's Maria Cavallaro won in 23.52 and her twin sister Rachel Cavallaro was third in 24.23 to help the Scarlet Knights down Masconomet 78.5-56.5.

Ski debut


Despite the mild winter, the ski season got underway at the Bradford Ski Area for local girls yesterday and Andover made a dominating statement. The Warriors whipped both North Andover and Manchester Essex and, led by winner Jess Kearns, had the top three places and four of the top five.
