Pentucket's Jack Donahue  played a third singles match against Manchester Essex's Jeff Durkin that lasted almost 2 1/2 hours in Division 3 North quarterfinals. 

Durkin pulled out the victory 7-5, 2-6, 7-6, 8-6 to lead the No. 6 seed Manchester Essex to a 3-2 match win over third-seeded Pentucket.

Chris Adams and Dan Ryan won at No. 1 doubles yesterday (6-3, 6-1) to help Pentucket to a 5-0 win over Lynnifeld.  The duo completed its season at 16-0, winning its first nine matcehs of the season in the No. 2 doubles position before moving to the No. 1doubles spot for the last seven matches.

With the match on the line, Jack Donahue won in three sets at third singles as Pentucket edged Manchester Essex 3-2. Chris Adams and Dan Ryan remained unbeaten in doubles for the Sachems (10-4).

Pentucket's Pat Dahn battled Haverhil's Hanul Moon to a thrilling 7-6, 1-6, 7-5 victory as the Sachems topped the Hillies 5-0 in a game that was postponed a day due to rain. Jimmy Beaton added a tight 7-6, 6-3 win for the Green and White.

As roller-coaster matches go, this one was extreme. Pentucket's Jack Donahue battled off four match points in the second set, evened his third singles match in a tiebreaker and won the first four games of the deciding set. But North Reading's Chris Harrow stormed back to take the next six games, winning the match and giving the Hornets an emotional 3-2 victory. Ryan Barrows also fought off the Sachems' Jimmy Beaton in another exciting three-set match to remain undefeated for North Reading.

With the score tied at 2-2,  Pentucket freshman Jack Donahue rallied for a 7-6, 0-6, 6-4 victory to lift the Sachems to a huge 3-2 season-opening win over North Andover. Mike Terranova had an exciting three-set win for the Knights at first singles.
