Brandon Santell and Jon Vellila split dutiers at 220 and heavyweight and both were undefeated and Eric Sanchez bumped up to 195 for a pin against standout Derek DiMascio to help Lawrence edge Wakefield 39-37 on its way to a quad-meet sweep to improve to 12-4 on the year. Lawrence had a bounce-back effort at the Chicopee Duals, winning three of four, after struggling mightily against Chelmsford. Sophomore 106-pounder Luis Mauricio was 3-1 and only lost to Lowell Holiday Tournament finalist Scott Downs of Winchester 8-6, heavyweight Brandon Santell was 4-0 with four pins and Michael Hernandez and Chris Bueno were also 4-0. Freshman first-year wrestler Jaycob Zapata was an impressive 3-1.

Lawrence bounced back from a rough loss to Chelmsford three days earlier by sweeping a tri-meet, the highlight being a big 33-32 comeback win over a strong Winchester club. The Lancers, while improving to 13-4 pinned in four of the last five weights after trailing 30-12. Particularly impressive was a third-period pin at 170 by Brian Perez at 170 and a pin at 195 by Sammy Estevez.

On the same week that his beloved grandfather passed away, Haverhill junior Reece Millington didn't let up. The Hillies' 145-pounder had two pins and a major decision as Haverhill won two of three meets, falling only to Westford. Millington is now 28-1 on the year with 21 pins.

Haverhill and Methuen both won four meets in a multi-team meet at Haverhill. For the Rangers (19-6), Christian Monserrat remained unbeaten at 138 and Billy Wehring and Rafael Caceres was also 4-0. For the Hillies (18-6), Danny Dejesus, Reece Millington, Orlando Rojas, Jake Prescott and Jordan Faulkner were all 4-0.
