READING — Austin Prep senior halfback Ryan Havey from North Reading bulled
across two early fourth-quarter touchdowns at Father Seymour Field to lead
Austin to a 30-26 comeback win over a gutsy North Reading team.

North Reading twice built up two-touchdown leads, 20-8 at the half and
26-14 after three quarters. After Austin Prep scored first on a Steve Barker 30-yard
interception return (Havey added the conversion), North Reading scored three
straight touchdowns, two coming after Austin turnovers.

Senior quarterback Nicholas Rosano threw two touchdown passes to sophomore wide receiver Ryley
Warnock sandwiched around a 3-yard plunge by senior fullback Eric Popp. Only one conversion run by Rosano after the first score was successful.


Austin scored on the opening kickoff of the second half, 85 yards by senior
Tyler Finigan. The Hornets countered with another score by sophomore running
back Carl Lipani of 50 yards and another unsuccessful conversion gave the
team a 26-14 lead.

 On the day, Rosano was 10 for 22 for 148 yards and two touchdown passes. He
also carried the ball 23 times for 70 yards. Overall, North Reading
outgained Austin in total offense 292-148 yards.

Austin hosts Dennis-Yarmouth next Friday  at 3 p.m. while North Reading hosts
Bishop Fenwick the same day at 7 p.m.
