Elani Kacher was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Shortstop Rachel Notargiacomo turned two double plays. Molly Rowe earned the complete-game victory.
"Our defense has been playing great, and that's been the difference this year," Newburyport coach Peter Murray said. "These girls play with poise under pressure."
