The North Reading boys basketball team fell into an early deficit, trailing 8-1 early on in the opening quarter, but rebounded to crush Lowell Catholic, 69-47. The Hornets, who in spite of putting up 69 points shot just 35 percent from the field (29-of-83), remain undefeated at 6-0.
North Reading was led by Kevin Lentini, who hit seven field goals and four free throws for 18 points. Dino Rizzo scored 12 and Darren Hartwell had 11, and junior P.J. Dionne gave the team a nice lift by recording 12 of his own off the bench. The Hornets have a tough test awaiting them on Tuesday, when they face 4-1 Wilmington.
