The Gloucester field hockey team (7-3-1) inched closer to a state tournament berth with a 6-1 domination of Everett. Senior captain Cat LaCroix lead the Fishermen attack with two goals, the first coming in the first minute of the game. Alysha Clayton, Brianna Aloisio and Emily Castro also scored for Gloucester.

"This was a big confidence builder for us," Gloucester coach Kim Patience said. "We played a good game and got our backups some quality playing time."

Patience credited LaCroix, Castro and defensemen Olivia Brown for their play.
