Methuen enjoyed a great season, but as coach Matt Twomey said, "It just ended too soon."
The Rangers took a 2-0 lead against Masconomet last night but fell, 16-25, 16-25, 25-14, 25-18, 15-12, in the Division 1 North quarterfinals.
"The girls and myself are really shell-shocked right now," Twomey said.
The Rangers hung tough, but couldn't hold off the Chieftains, who never relinquished the lead in all three of the final games.
"We just could not seem to get (the momentum) back," Twomey said.
Courtney Murach and Rashidat Agboola played well for the Rangers. Seniors Rebecca Guselli, Taylor Gillette, Kayleigh Bauchman and Amanda Armstrong were commended by Twomey for a great season.
