Sibanda, Salem crush Londonderry

SALEM — Josh Sibanda continued his monstrous season, rushing for 221 yards and three touchdowns as Salem beat Londonderry 35-14 to remain unbeaten.

Salem led 28-0 at halftime and never looked back, getting on the board early in the first quarter after Sibanda broke free for a 45-yard rushing TD.

The Blue Devils got another big play with 1:20 to go in the first, as Josh Maroun escaped for a 65-yard score. Sibanda scored his second TD from 6-yards out with 4:22 to go in the second quarter, and Domenic Paci scored an 8-yard TD with 37 seconds left before halftime.

Londonderry got on the board early in the third quarter, with Evan Cormier rushing for a 40-yard TD. Salem answered with another big Sibanda score — this one for 74 yards — and the Lancers answered one more time with a 16-yard TD pass from Cormier to Alex Tsetsilas late in the fourth quarter.

Londonderry was led offensively by sophomore Jeff Wiedenfeld (52 yards rushing on 12 carries), and Evan Cormier went 6-8 passing with 66 yards and a TD.

Salem (9-0) and Londonderry (6-3) will face each other again next week in the first round of the N.H. Division 1 state tournament.
