Georgetown-Ipswich, which won the Scituate Tournament a week earlier, had its best performance in years by placing third in the 16-team Wakefield tournament, one place ahead of Methuen, which was battling illness and injuries.

Ian Forgitano was a repeat champion for the Royals at 106, recording a pin in the finals, and 160-pounder Charlie Koshivas joined him with a gold medal, defeating Greater Lawrence'sChristian Hernandez in the finals, 7-4. Josiah Krayson was second at 120 and Troy Forgitano was third at 113.

"The kids wrestled their hearts out," said Georgetown coach Ryan Archambault. "It's probably the best performance since I'Ve been here."

Also for Greater Lawrence, David White was second at 170. Methuen had four third places, led by sophomore Aaran Searth (195) and Chris Fowler (220), both of whom had pins in the consolation finals.
