Timberlane can't hold off Bedford rally

PLAISTOW — Timberlane led Bedford 27-14 going into the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs caught fire over the final few minutes, scoring 23 points the rest of the way to win 38-32 on Friday night.

Jacob Post rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns for Timberlane, including a 67-yard rush in the second quarter that put the Owls ahead by 20-14 going into halftime.

Post's third touchdown, a 2-yard scamper in the third quarter, made it a two-score game, but Bedford came back with two touchdowns and two-point conversions in the fourth to take the lead.

Timberlane responded with a big 68-yard touchdown pass from Dan Hayes to Brendan Frezza, but Bedford's Connor Robert broke free for a 41-yard touchdown run to pull ahead for good.

Timberlane (1-1) is at Goffstown next Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
