Grassini throws 9 TD passes as Merrimack wallops Astros

DERRY — Vaunted Pinkerton has put some lopsided beatings on the oppostion over the years.
Last night may have been the Astros' most lopsided loss.
Justin Grassini (24 of 35, 506 yards, 9 TD passes, 1 interception) had one of the most prolific games in New England high school football history before sitting out the fourth quarter in a 69-29 drubbing.
He was 19 of 28 for 416 and 7 TD passes in the first half.
The loss knocked Pinkerton (3-4) out of the playoffs for the first time since 2002.
Aiden Goujon led the Astros with 206 yards and touchdown passes to Ty Hicks and a 77-yarder to Nico Buccieri.

Grassini, Merrimack hand Salem first loss

MERRIMACK — Merrimack handed Salem its first loss 39-20.

The host Tomahawks, who are also 4-1, took a 14-7 lead in the first and extended it to 21-7 at the break.

Josh Sibanda scored all three touchdowns, one a 12-yard run, another a 72-yard and alo a 35-yard pass from Matt Soldano.
