Last year's record: 20-3 (lost to Lincoln-Sudbury, 49-46, in Division 2 North semifinals)

Coach: Bob Romeo (6th season)

Key returnees: Caroline Stewart, Sr. F; Annie Burns, Sr. G; Jamie White, Jr. G.; Meredith DeAngelis, Sr. F.
Key departures: Kristin D'Avolio, Katie DiBenedetto, Olivia Kendall.

Strengths: A strong core of returning players. Stewart, who is already committed to Boston University, Burns, and White have seen lots of court time over the past couple seasons and they will be the foundation that Romeo builds on this season. The trio provides the Chieftains with a unique blend of abilities. Stewart is a strong inside presence, White is a slasher, and Burns is a point guard with good shooting range.

Concerns: Depth. Masco returns six varsity players and welcomes six new varsity players to the court this season. As Romeo says, "It takes more than six to win."

Coach's outlook: "In our league we're not the favorite. Pentucket will be the favorite, but I look to compete for that title. We also want to qualify for the state tournament and if we can mature as a team and get some young kids ready to come on by the end of February and March I think we can do those things."
