Timely defense and a top-heavy offense earned Whittier its third straight victory, 5-1 over Division 1 foe Haverhill. Sophomore second baseman Nate Frongillo played "the best defensive game I've seen in a long time," according to Wildcat coach Joe Boland, making several stops that stopped Hillies runs from scoring. Brian Vezina had an RBI triple as well as a double and leadoff man George Gouthier added a pair of doubles.
