The timing of New Englands is less than perfect for New Hampshire track athletes.

Saturday’s 33rd annual meet at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston was 20 days after the N.H. state meets. Thus many of the Granite State elite don’t even bother competing.

Seleny takes three

Conor Seleny won the 300 (36.91) and 55 hurdles (7.60) and led the winning 4x200 relay (1:32.62) for Pinkerton at a last-chance meet at Phillips Exeter. Adding wins for the Astros were Ben Fleming (55 dash) and Stephen Connelly (600).

Fleming, Pinkerton take first

Ben Fleming won the 55 dash (6.72) and Conor Seleney took the 55 hurdles (7.76) as Pinkerton took first overall in a New Hampshire Meet with 54.50 points.

Sizzling Seleny

Conor Seleny won the 55-meter hurdles (7.62) and 300 (36.32), both fastest in the state this winter, as unbeaten Pinkerton rolled to the win in the 13-team meet. Zach Plaza won the 600 (1:25.81) and Ben Fleming took the dash in 6.71.

Astros start strong

It was a nice start to the indoor season for the Pinkerton boys track team, which won an eight-team meet at UNH with 70 points. Ryan Dane (55 dash, 6.70), Stephen Connelly (1,500, 4:27.57) and Conor Seleny (55 hurdles, 7.84) all had individual wins for the Astros, who also won the 4x160 relay.
