Dan Burrows had three hits, and Matt Burns, Nick Comei, J.t. Ruth and Pat Yale all had a pair of hits apiece but it wasn't enough as Haverhill bowed out to Medford in the Division 1 North first-rounder, 11-7.

Senior righth-ander Nick Comei struck out nine in a complete game effort and drove in the game-winning run on a double as Haverhill won 3-2 Boston Latin in the preliminary round of the Division 1 North baseball tournament.

 Senior catcher Sean Wrenn had the game-winning RBI, driving in junior Matt McIntosh with a single in the bottom of the sixth to give Haverhill (11-7) a 3-2 victory over Tewksbury. Sophomore Josh Goldstein went the distance, scattering seven hits and striking out four for the win. Juniors Juanel Oriach and Tommy Maguire each went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Haverhill has won five straight and six of its last seven games.

 Trailing 8-4, Haverhill (10-7) rallied for five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Billerica 9-8. Sophomore Patrick Yale drove in junior Juanel Oriach for the game-winning run with a single as the Hillies qualified for the state tournament. Oriach went 2 for 3 with two RBIS and three runs scored, including a two-RBI double with the bases loaded in the last inning. Nick Comei added two RBIs and two runs scored for the Hillies, who have own five of their last six games. Junior Evan Penny surrendered one run on four hits over the final three and 2/3 innings to earn the victory.

Haverhill sophomore Josh Goldstein (4-hitter, 2Ks) outdueled Lawrence junior Joan Vargas (4-hitters. 3 Ks) in a 2-1 win. Matt Burns plated a run on a triple in the fourth then scored the game-winner on a sac fly by Ryan Perez.

Nick Comei pitched a gutsy complete game and added a pair of RBI hits as Haverhill defeated Lowell, 6-4. J.T. Ruth contributed a two-run single in the second as the Hillies jumped out to a 5-1 lead and held on for the victory.

Powered by J.T. Ruth (two hits including a double, RBI, run scored) and Dan Burrows (two hits, RBI, run scored), Haverhill erupted for six third-inning runs in a 7-2 win over Methuen. Jonathan Pierce had a double and a run scored for Methuen.

Right-hander Sean Wrenn tossed a complete game shutout, alllowing just three hits and three walks while striking out five to lead Haverhill 4-0 over Dacut (3-5).

Sean Wrenn scattered six hits, struck out seven and walked one to lead Haverhill to a 4-1 victory over Andover (1-2). Nick Comei had a double, an RBI and a run scored while Ryan Perez and Patrick Yale each added two hits for the Hillies.

Haverhill scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh but Central Catholic pulled out a 6-5 win on a throwing error, two walks a William Martin RBI suicide squeeze. The ensuing overthrow at the plate brought in Pat Gleason for the winning run.
