Needing a win to make the state tournament,  Methuen fell to Lowell 26-24, 28-26, 25-21. Kyle Mansour led the Rangers (8-10) with 11 kills and 15 service points.

Andover qualifies for tourney

After missing the playoffs last year, Andover boys volleyball qualified for the tournament this spring with a 3-1 victory over Lowell. 

Joseph Kuykendall recorded 22 kills for Andover (10-6).

Barbera rules

Ryan Barbera ruled Central Catholic's back line play in a shutout volleyball win over Lowell, dishing out 21 assists and serving for 21 points including five acesc as the Raiders stayed unbeaten.

Still unbeaten

The season is still young, but the Lawrence boys volleyball is off to a 3-0 start after defeating Lowell in three straight games. Joel Rogriguez and Abimael Villa both had six kills in a balanced attack for the Lancers, who host Haverhill in an early-season MVC showdown tomorrow.
