Warriors repeat

Andover and Central Catholic are developing a nice rivalry, playing for the MVC boys tennis title for the second straight season. Thanks to Evan Birenbaum and Justin Edelman winning a three-set war at first singles, the Golden Warriors defended their crown, 3-2. Another entertaining match came at second singles as Andover's Christian Waters and Central's Chris Bunker went back and forth before Waters broke a 5-5 second-set tie to win eight of the final 10 games.

Central Catholic 4, Haverhill 0

Sneaking their match in despite a persistent drizzle, Central Catholic was able to defeat Haverhill, 4-0. Owen O'Leary and Billy Manchinton played a rare varsity match and competed well, winning a three-set battle at second doubles.

Central No. 2 doubles team Liam Cusack and Marc Letayf lost their first set 5-7, but then battled back to win 6-4, 6-2. Their effort helped Central tennis win 3-2 over Chelmsford.
