Josie Sanchez was 4 for 4 with 5 RBIs and scored four runs as Whittier downed Lawrence 12-8.

Shannon Tully and Taylor Farris stroked back-to-back home runs in the first inning for Andover softball, which posted a 16-2 victory over Lawrence. 

Kelly Sicard was 2 for 3, scored three runs and drove in another for Lawrence, which scored five runs in the sixth to beat Notre Dame 9-4.

 Central Catholic's bats came alive as the Raiders (10-2) qualified for the tournament by taking apart Lawrence 17-2 in five innings. Alex Borrelli (3 for 3) slugged two home runs, Corrinne Gosselin had a grand slam and Brianna Martin was 3 for 4 with three runs scored and two RBIs.

With every starter getting at least two hits, Lawrence erupted for 25 hits in a 15-1 rout of Somerville. Leslie Rodriguez led the way with four hits and three RBIs.

Led by senior veteran Kelly Sicard, Lawrence scored 11 runs in the sixth inning to overcome a 4-2 deficit in a 13-4 victory over Haverhill. Sicard had three hits and five RBIs, including two hits and three RBIs in the sixth.

Bernadette Corrado had a home run, triple and five RBIs and sister Mary Kate Corrado was 2 for 2 with three runs scored as Pentucket crushed Lawrence 17-4.

Leadoff hitter Courtney Bradley doubled, tripled, scored three runs and drove in two more to lead Methuen to a season-opening 11-1 victory over Lawrence. Becca Armstrong added four RBIs.
