No. 5 seeded Georgetown crushed No. 1 Matigon 9-1 in a Division 3 North semifinal game and advanced to the fina at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Woburn. It will play the winner of today's semifinal between Shawsheen and Greater Lowell. 

Goalie Lisa Rand made five saves for her first career varsity victory as Central Catholic bested Matignon 7-1. 

Brad McGovern netted the game's only goal in Haverhill's 1-0 win over Matignon. Pat Roberts assisted on the play, and Justin Boraczek posted 32 saves in the shutout.

No. 12 Georgetown defeated No. 5 Matignon, 4-1. The Royals advance to Tuesday's quarterfinal game.

Whittier's Philipe Guimares tired the score at 1-1 in the first minute of the second half but the Wildcats fell short as Matignon answered only one minute later for the go-ahead and eventual winning score.

Pat Doliber assisted on Eamon Barrett's game-winner to collect the 100th point of his career Saturday as Fenwick (5-6) broke a late 4-4 tie to top Matignon 5-4. Doliber also had two goals and Mike Buonfiglio collected a goal as the Crusaders led 3-1 at half before Matignon came roaring back.

Junior Bridget Dullea racked up seven goals as the Crusaders (8-0) stayed perfect on the season with a 16-6 riumph over Matignon. Rebecca Graves added a hat trick as Fenwick led 9-5 at the half and never let up. Goalie Jill DeFrancesco stopped nine shots while Ellen O'Leary, Amelia Santos and Casey Otovic all chipped in with a pair of goals.

No. 15 Georgetown pulled off the biggest local upset of the state tournament thus far, shocking No. 2 Matignon, 67-62, in the first round of the Division 4 North tourney.

Taryn O'Connell tallied 24 points and 17 rebounds for the Royals, who improved to 11-10. Matignon, which fell to 18-3, trailed 45-23 at halftime before outscoring Georgetown 39-22 in after the break. But they couldn't overcome the Royals.
