Nicoline Holland took a pass from Nicole DiMaio off a corner and blasted home a goal with seven minutes left in the game to give No. 5 Georgetown a 3-2 win over No. 13 Weston in the Division 3 North quarterfinals.
"A few defenders got a foot on it," said Royals coach Colleen Gibbs, "but she placed it so well. She knew where the goalie was, and just put the shot in the right place. It was a very hard shot."
Jamie Block was a double threat, making four saves in a shutout first half in net, then moving to the field and scoring a goal that, at the time, gave the Royals a 2-0 lead. Ashley Meuskes added the first goal for Georgetown, which advances to face top-seeded Matignon in the semifinals tomorrow at Manning Field in Lynn at 3:30.
