Taariq Allen scored on a 55-yard touchdown pass from Ian McKinley, and Marcel Hardmon added an 8-yard touchdown run in the second half, but it was too little, too late for the Magicians, who slipped to 3-5.
Winthrop jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead by taking advantage of some Marblehead mistakes.
"They scored on a punt return, which we were in position to make the play. It was a breakdown," Marblehead coach Doug Chernovetz said. "We also had an unsportsmanlike penalty after we got a huge third down stop. It gave them the ball back and they ended up putting together a drive and scoring. It was just mistakes. We also threw an interception and they ran it in before the half."
Sam Perlow played well defensively for Marblehead.
