There was a nervous moment for the Pentucket girls basketball team yesterday in its 49-29 romp over Newburyport. In the second quarter, 6-foot-3 center Kirsten Daamen went down with what looked like a possible serious knee injury.
"The whole gym got quiet," said Pentucket coach John McNamara. "Fortunately, it turned out just to be a bruise."
As for the game itself, Erin McNamara continued her fine play of late with 19 points for the Sachems (7-1) and Holly Parker played well off the bench with six points.
