Sam Prescott may want to limit his practice time in the future after what he accomplished Wednesday night.
Prescott, who hadn't practiced in a week due to a sprained ankle, stunned defending all-state champ CJ Cincotta with an 8-4 decision at 160 pounds to key Haverhill to a big 36-32 win over North Andover.
Prescott, a senior, got an early takedown and got back points in the first period, holding a 7-1 lead at one point, and then held on for the win.
"Sammy wrestled a great match and we needed it," said Haverhill coach Tim Lawlor, whose team improved to 4-0.
The Hillies also pulled out close decisions by Ron Fuller at 120 and Ryan McCartney at 195. McCartney prevailed 9-6 in overtime. Ben Davoli (106), Steven Wise (138), Jake Nicolosi (145) and heavyweight Jay Levy all had pins for the Hillies and Israel Tricoche had a 10-4 decision at 170.
Joey Vaklentino (126), Michael Coles (182) and Chris Clemenzi (220) all had pins for the Knights.
