Mastromonaco leads locals

WESTWOOD —  North Andover sophomore Abby Mastromonaco led all local runners Sunday at the All-State meets at Stanley Park in Westfield.

On a 5K course covered with snow, Mastromonaco ran a solid 20:51.57, good for 39th place in the Division 1 meet. Most observers believe the snow cost runners at least a minute.

Finishing 52nd was Central Catholic junior Kelsey Seamans (21:12.67) while North Andover's Courtney Dalke was 89th. Natick's Grace Connolly finished first with an excellent time of 18:14.28 and led her team to first overall.

In the Division 2 All-State Meet, Pentucket's Phoebe Rubio came in 31st with a 21:01.04 clocking, which was the second fastest local clocking of the day.
