Astros fall in state title game

It was a terrific season for the Pinkerton boy's tennis team, but it ended one win short of its ultimate goal. The Astros (16-1) suffered their only loss of the season on Tuesday, but it just happened to be to powerhouse Bedford, 5-4, in the state championship game.

Pinkerton got singles wins from Seb Tonini at first (8-4), Henry Su at third (9-7), Henry Andrews at fourth (8-2), and Jeff Marquis at fifth (8-3), but couldn't take any doubles matches.

The title was the sixth in a row for Bedford, which also finished its season 16-1.
