When Amesbury and Georgetown softball faced off on Wednesday, it was very one-sided, with Amesbury taking the 16-1 win in five innings. When the two teams faced off again less than 24 hours later, the game went much differently. Amesbury still go the win, but Georgetown played strong from the opening pitch to keep it to 3-0. Ultimately the Royals couldn't solve Hayley Catania, who allowed two hits with a walk and had nine strikeouts in the complete-game shutout. With the win, Amesbury (10-5) has now qualified for the state tournament.
