Greater Lawrence shuts out Austin Prep

READING — Greater Lawrence football blanked Austin Prep on Friday, shutting out the Cougars 14-0 on the road.

Ojany Belliard got the Reggies on the board with a 74-yard rush midway through the first quarter, and Leyton Barr caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Kyle Vasconcellos, who rushed for a two-point conversion to make it 14-0 going into halftime.

That proved to be all the offense the Reggies would need, as neither team scored in the second half, giving Greater Lawrence the win. Belliard finished with 85 yards rushing, and Vasconcellos rushed for 52 yards and went 6-10 with 55 yards passing.

Greater Lawrence (1-1) hosts Greater Lowell next Saturday. Kickoff is at 10:30 a.m.
