Odds and ends: Nicole Zahoruiko is back playing lacrosse after taking last year off. .... The Scarlet Knights returned 11 of their top 15 players but lost two scholarship players. ... The Scarlet Knights hosted a massive jamboree last week, hosting schools as distant as Dover-Sherborn. ... Aimee Dixon, who graduated North Andover last year, worked with this year's club during her spring break from UMass. ... Kate Kleinendorst's father Kurt is the coach of the Lowell Devils AHL hockey team. ... The Knights bounced back from a 6-8-2 season in 2006.

Coach Karen Lahey (6th year, 67-27-2): "Our transition is looking decent. They're a young group, but a tight-knight group so far. They're determined to go farther in the tourney and repeat as CAL champs. We're looking for good things from Caroline Barclay. Defensively, Katie Boringa, Brittany Chiles and Kate Kleinendorst we're hoping to be real anchors."
