Warriors bounce back

Andover's field hockey team experienced a couple of firsts in its Division 1 North semifinal matchup with Weston.

Over the course of yesterday's game, the Golden Warriors trailed. And Weston doubled Andover's goals allowed total.

But in the end, Jackie Torres' hat trick drove the Warriors to a 4-2 victory and a berth in the sectional finals.

"It was interesting," coach Maureen Noone said. "But it was nice to be down and see the kids fired up to pick it up and fight back."

Midfielders Louisa Gross (assist), Bridget Morris and Kate Farnham (assist) drew kudos for work on the offensive end, while Abby Taylor and Taylor Farris broke up many Weston possessions.

Next up for Andover will be the winner of tomorrow's Acton-Boxboro/Chelmsford's matchup Saturday at 1 p.m. at North Andover High.
