Meagan Keefe scored a career-best five goals, includinng four in a row to end the first half, as Andover pulled out a thrilling 13-9 win over previously unbeaten Longmeadow (now 6-1).
"It is the first time we have ever defeated them," said Andover head coach John McVeigh. "They are always the best team from the west (western Massachusetts) and I am very proud of our team and their effort today, especially in the second half."
After the two teams battled to an 8-8 first half tie, the Golden Warriors (6-1) outscored Longmeadow, 5-1, i the second half. Andover goalie Jill Beucler came in relief in the second half and stopped five of six shots. Beucler returned from an injury to make her 2011 debut.
Ally Fazio had a pair of goals and a pair of assists.
