Cam Couillard's two-run double highlighed North Andover's three-run sixth inning as the Knights topped Division 1, and Eastern Mass preseaon No. 5, Malden Catholic, 7-5.

The win improved Division 2 North Andover to 2-1 with all three games against D1 opponents.

"We just wanted to play good baseball against some good teams," said North Andover head coach Todd Dulin. "Right now we are happy with where we are at."

Mike Weisman went the distance for North Andover and turned in a gem, striking out 12 and recovered from a three unearned runs in the first inning.

"He showed a lot of posie after that first inning," said Dulin. " He gutted it out and he was pretty dominant.  They didn't hit the ball too hard after that first inning."

North Andover trailed by one (5-4) heading to the last of the sixth when pinch hitter Scptt Whitley opened the inning by reaching on a catcher's interference call.  David Foote (3-for-3) followed with a bunt single and each runner moved up on a throwing error, setting up Coulliard's double. 

North Andover plays at Division 1 Needham on Monday (2 p.m.).
