Salem's softball team recorded its third straight shutout to open the season, 9-0 over Pinkerton, and has now outscored its opponents 23-0. Nicole Gubellini allowed one hit over six innings, striking out nine, and now has two wins and a save, and she also had a pair of hits and an RBI. Sophomore Sam Cloutier had her second 2 for 4 day with two RBIs of the season and Amanda Baron had two doubles and an RBI.
"And those two doubles and her last hit against Concord would have all been home runs in a collegiate park with a fence," said Salem coach Harold Sachs.
