Katie Z does it all

The Central Catholic girls basketball team improved to 9-2 and handed Lowell its first loss of the season with yesterday's 64-40 victory. Katie Zenevitch contributed in every aspect of the game, scoring 24 points (with four 3-pointers) to go along with 15 boards, seven steals and seven assists. Melissa Miller added 15 points and four steals, Gabie Polce knocked in 12, and Gia O'Connor scored 11.

Central Catholic topped Tewksbury 77-65, but the story of the night was the exceptional play of Gia O'Connor. O'Connor scored a game-high 31 points to go along with nine rebounds, six steals and four assists. Kendall Desrosiers registered a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Ashley Evangelista had 14 points, five assists and three steals.

Gia O'Connor had a monster night with 26 points, 6 steals, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to help lead Central Catholic in a 57-35 victory over Lawrence. O'Connor was also a perfect 4 of 4 from the charity stripe. Gabie Polce added 12 points of her own, and Kendall Desrosiers chipped in with 11 rebound and five blocks to go along with her two points.
