 Taryn O'Connell scored Georgetown's last six points as the Royals overcame a five-point defici in the last two minutes, to earn a 50-49 win over Lynnfield.  O'Connell's free throw with eight seconds left was the game winner. She finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds.

Coming from behind in the last two minutes, Georgetown girls hoops got an exciting one-point win at home as Taryn O'Connell put on a show with 24 points and 14 rebounds, and hit three out of four free throws in the 10 seconds to seal the win. Shannon Hartford also chipped in with six points.

The Georgetown girls basketball team crushed Rockport yesterday, 72-27, to improve to 1-1.

Said coach BarriAnn Alonzo, "Everyone had a personal challenge to accomplish, and they worked hard to do it. We had some mistakes to fix from our first game, so we set goals, and we made them. When we can do that, we will come out with a win."

Taryn O'Connell showed off midseason form, erupting for 30 points and 12 rebounds for Georgetown in a 64-63 heartbreaking loss at Manchester.

Georgetown, which opened the game in an 11-0 hole, actually had the ball with a chance to win with 4.9 seconds to play but couldn't click.
