The Manchester-Essex field hockey team got a big shot in the arm with the return of play maker Lee Stroman. The senior midfielder had missed the first half of the season with a torn acl that she suffered last winter. Stroman made an instant impact scoring a goal in the Hornets 7-0 win over Pentucket yesterday.
Read More »The Sachems (3-5-1) fell to the Manchester-Essex Hornets (8-1-1) yesterday, 7-0. The Hornets had the advantage in penalty corners, 17-6. "We came out and played very well early on, and we were only down by two at half," said Sachem coach Ruth Beaton. "But we were just out-played by a very talented, quick, and aggressive team. We made some fundamental mistakes, but I think we can learn a lot about ourselves playing against a team that is so crisp in their play and execution."
