ANDOVER — Playing a team it had beaten handily less than two weeks earlier and a final climatic showdown with rival Central Catholic looming, it would have been understandable if the Golden Warriors had been looking ahead.

CAMBRIDGE — A season that began with high hopes before stumbling several times during the year suddenly turned bright again for the Lawrence boys, who have righted a slump that saw them lose four of their final six regular-season games.

 Andover junior Nicole Boudreau tied her season high with nine 3-pointers and scored an area season-best 39 points as Andover whipped Cambridge Rindge & Latin 81-67 in the finals on the Spartan Classic. Overall, the Warriors had 15 3-pointers as they wound up the regular season with a 21-1 record.

Melissa Miller had a monster game for third-ranked Central Catholic, exploding for a game-high 26 points as the Raiders easily defeated Cambridge Rindge & Latin, 72-55.

Savanna Butterfield was named to the all-Bishop Fenwick Holiday Tournament team. Butterfield led Londonderry with 12 points in the Lancers win against Cambridge 52-45 and added 18 rebounds during Tuesday's game against Revere.

North Andover has rolled to a 29-7 halftime lead behind the all-around brilliance of Brandon Walsh. The junior has a rushing TD, an interception return for a TD and TD passes to David Foote and Jon Swanton.

CAMBRIDGE — All it took was three plays for Cambridge Rindge and Latin to realize they were in for a long night.

Brandon Walsh just completed his second pass of the night – a 15-yard strike to senior David Foote on a third-down conversion – when one Cambridge coach looked at another and asked, “this kid is only a junior?”

NORTH ANDOVER — Rebounding from a first half in which North Andover played like they had dancing on their minds, the Scarlet Knights decided to let Zac Iovanella do the running after intermission.

Andrew Ruiz-Henriquez drove in the game-tying run with an RBI-double in the seventh, narrowly missing a walk-off two-run homer before Andover lost 7-2 in nine innings. Unfortunately for the Warriors, Cambridge put up five in the top of the ninth to wrestle control of the game and earn the win.

Making a strong run at the postseason, Central Catholic pounded Cambridge Rindge & Latin, 22-0, for its fifth straight victory. Brandon Lavoie got the offense going for the Raiders (6-7), winning 19 of 22 faceoffs. Andrew Ouellette made Lavoie's work count with four goals and four assists, giving the junior 10 goals over his last two games. Next up is a key matchup tomorrow with Division 1 Chelmsford.
