MANCHESTER — It was a great day for Sanborn's Khalil brothers Saturdayand a very good day for Windham in the Manchester Invitational Small School boys race.

Sanborn junior Jared Khalil finished second overall in 16:23 on the challenging 3.1-mile Derryfield Park course and brother Tyson Khalil was right behind hi in third with a 16:52. They carried Sanborn to fith overall in the 31-team field.

Isabella Keogh and Leah Morrier each scored two goals as Timberlane rolled past Manchester Central 6-3. Alida Bates and Sophia Keogh each added one goal.

Delaney Condon scored and Brandi Garand (7 saves) notched the shutout as Timberlane field hockey (now 1-3-2) tripped Manchester Central/Manchester West, 1-0.

Jennifer Olson scored off an assist from Sophia Quinlan in the second half, and that was enough to give Salem field hockey its first win of the season, 1-0 over Manchester Central.

Chloe Stone scored seven goals and Ariana Lakos added five as Salem girls lacrosse whipped Manchester Central, 14-3.

Ariana Lakos poured in seven goals to pace Timberlane to its first win of the season, 13-4 over Manchester Central.

Windham (1-3) won its first match of the winter, whipping Manchester Central 42-9. Sam Oakes, Nick Antonucci and Con Isaac won on pins.

In a matchup of Division 1 powers, unbeaten Windham took down fellow Manchester Central, 3-2, on penalty kicks. Sam Husson scored the sudden-death game-winner in the sixth round and was immediately swarmed by his teammates.

Sanborn sophomore Jared Khalil and Windham's boys were the story Saturday at the Division 2 boys cross country meet at Derryfield Park.

Khalil finished third overall with a terrific time of 16:06 on the slick and challenging course, six seconds ahead of Windham rival Rohan Rai, who took fourth. But the Jaguars reached their goal of finishing second as a team behind national power Coe-Brown.

Tied after two overtimes, Windham defeated Manchester Central 2-1 in penalty kicks to advance to the Division 1 girls soccer quarterfinals.

Reagan Murray scored in regulation for the Jaguars. Cassie Fischer scored the game-winner in the 10th round of the shootout and Jess Thobodeau had 13 saves in the win.
