The Greater Lawrence Baseball Umpires Association and Merrimack Valley Umpires Association are sponsoring a class to train umpires. Methuen sophomore Kiley Buckley had four hits, including three home runs, and a whopping eight RBIS as Phillips Academy ended its season (7-5) with a 17-5 rout of Phillips Exeter.

The Phillips Academy baseball team remained unbeaten (12-0), sweeping Winchendon 5-0 and 7-1. In the opener, North Andover's Matt Sapienza threw a 4-hitter, striking out 10.

Phillips Academy sophomore Kiley Buckley of Methuen was a terror with runners on base, driving in a whopping eight runs on three hits that included a grand slam and a 2-run homer as surging Phillips Academy routed Phillips Exeter, 19-3. Fallon O'Connor and Evalyn Lee also had three hits and a pair of RBIs.

Phillips Academy's softball team crushed Worcester Academy 14-1 and 11-1 in a doubleheader. Winning pitchers Fallon O'Connor and Lauren Mahoney both gave up just two hits. Olivia McManus led the offense, going 5 for 6 with 5 RBIs.

Jacob Lapp of North Andover fired five inniings of two-hit relief with seven strikeouts and no walks as Phillips blanked Worcester Academy, 6-0. Thomas White (2 innings, 1 hit, 4 Ks, 3 BB) went the first two innings. Tommy McAndrews of Haverhill drove in two runs.

North Andover's Matt Sapienza send the game into extra innings with an RBI double in the fifth, drove in the winning runs with a two-run triple in the 12th, and earned the win with three innings of relief as Phillips Academy beat Deerfield Academy 3-2 in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday.

Phillips beat Cushing, 16-4, in a nine-inning game. Tommy McAndrews of Haverhill threw out two runners, scored a run and drove in a run, Matt Sapienza of North Andover had a run and an RBI and Jack Penney scored three times in the win.

Bradford's Dallion Johnson hit seven 3-pointers and No. 6 Phillips Academy beat archrival No. 3 Phillips Exeter 73-63 in the first round of the NEPSAC Class A tournament on Wednesday. The Big Blue advance to the quarterfinals against No. 2 Hotchkiss on Saturday.
