Georgetown broke the game open with a 10-run fourth inning, burying Rockport en route to a 13-3 win. Tim Chianca and Tommy Long each went 2 for 3, with Chianca scoring three runs with two RBIs and Long two runs, and Brendan Willis pitched five scoreless innings to pick up the win.

Caitlin and Brenna Donoghue powered Georgetown past Rockport in extra innings, launching back to back home runs in the top of the fourth to help the Royals to a 10-8 win in eight innings. Caitlin Donoghue finished 4 for 5 with a double, home run and four RBIs, while Kate Irons went 2 for 3 with two runs.

Lagos keys win

Amesbury pitcher Luke Lagos got the job done for the Indians this weekend, leading his team to a 10-7 win over Rockport after allowing three earned runs with eight strikeouts over six innings while also going 2 for 4 with five RBIs out of the cleanup spot. Blake Bennett also went 2 for 3 with two runs and an RBI, Logan Burrill drove in two, Tucker Molin went 3 for 4 with two runs and Graham Gannett went 2 for 4 with two runs scored.

Julie Freitas, Caitlyn Kutcher and Fiona Hill each had two hits in Pentucket's 6-3 win over Rockport on Wednesday. Hill also had a terrific catch in center field. Freshman Sarah Sargent got her first varsity hit, a double and an RBI.

Parsons pitches shutout

Triton's Devin Parsons allowed only two hits with six strikeouts in a complete game shutout effort to lead the Vikings to a 7-0 win over Rockport. Tommy Lapham went 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI and Cole Lojek went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and a run. Triton is now 5-1 and has won five games in a row.

Port still perfect

Newburyport girls tennis remained perfect on the year, beating Rockport 5-0 to improve to 3-0 on the season. River Sava stepped up to third singles and won 6-0, 6-0, and Anna Hickman entered the lineup to team with Molly Page to win 6-1, 6-0 at second doubles. Newburyport has now won all three of its meets 5-0 and has yet to drop a single set on the season.

Catania dominates opener

Amesbury softball picked up a hard fought 9-6 victory over Rockport in the team's opener, and pitcher Hayley Catania played a big part. The senior pitcher allowed two earned runs on four hits with 10 strikeouts in a complete game effort, and at the plate had a home run and a triple with two RBI. Emma Catania also had two hits, Emma DiPietro had an RBI single and Ashlee Porcaro played great defensively at shortstop.

Vikings send off seniors

Triton girls basketball sent out its three senions as winners on Tuesday, beating Rockport on Senior Night 54-23. Meredith Kennedy scored 12 points, Kate Carter and Emily Karvielis scored 10 points each, and the Vikings collectively held Rockport to just seven points in the second half. Triton will wrap up its season on Thursday at North Reading.

Amesbury's Pat Birmingham scored three goals to lead his team to a 4-3 win over Rockport. Zack Begin had a goal and two assists, Owen Reid had two assists, and reserve goalie Brian Birmingham made 18 saves to pick up the win in just his second game at goalie ever.
