Despite losing a four-goal halftime advantage, Central Catholic's girls lacrosse team escaped with a narrow 11-10 win over Woburn. Jenna Palmisano was the hero, netting the game-winner with just 12 seconds remaining. Kelly Daigle led the Raiders with six goals.

Central Catholic's softball team got five runs in the second inning and didn't let up, blasting Woburn 14-2 in the Division 1 North first round. Leadoff batter Krista Maloney had two hits and five RBIs to lead the way and Olivia Antczak had three of the Raiders' 20 hits.

McLaughlin leads Raiders

Casey McLaughlin dropped in 34 points including a 12 for 12 effort from the free throw line and added 16 rebounds as Central Catholic overwhelmed Woburn, 71-44. Amanda Williams added 10 points and 11 boards while Courtney Walsh had 12 points for the Raiders, who will host upset-minded Methuen in the Division 1 North quarterfinals on Saturday.

Borrelli leads Central to title

Zac Borrelli helped lead the Central Catholic boys track and field team to a first place finish at the Massachusetts Division 2 Relays in Woburn. Central scored 82 points. Borrelli threw a personal best and school record 161 feet, 3 inches in the discus as the discus relay team set a school and meet record with a combined throw of 429-0.

Andover falls in heartbreaker

Casey Shea potted the game-winner for Woburn in overtime to give Andover a heart-breaking 2-1 defeat to end its season in the Division 1 North first round.

The Golden Warriors scored with just 3.5 seconds left in regulation when Joe Kuta won a faceoff to Matt Swett, who tied the score.
