Pentucket's boys tennis team dropped out of the Division 3 North tournament in the semifinals Monday, falling to powerful Bedford 4-1. Andrew Dickenson and Jack Donahue, at first doubles, were the lone winner for the Sachems (12-5).

Jake Chory scored 17 points but No. 6 seed Pentucket was upset 64-61 in the Division 3 North first round by 11th seed Bedford, which outscored the Sachems by four points in the third quarter and four points again in the fourth.

Pentuckets suffers heartbreaking OT loss in North final

WEST NEWBURY — Each time Bedford threw what seemed to be a knockout punch, Pentucket fought back.

Bedford twice drove inside the Pentucket 15-yard-line in the fourth quarter, and twice the Sachems turned the Buccaneers away without points to force the game into overtime.

Mike Brandano's two-run single keyed a three-run second inning, and Kyle Boucher had a clutch two-run single in the fifth inning to help break the game open.
