McCarthy (10 carries, 174 yards) rushed for four scores, returned the second-half kickoff 83 yards to the house and added a two-point rush.

Whittier falls to Somerville

SOMERVILLE — Kevin Bradley Jr. scored on a two-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, but that's all the offense Whittier could muster in Friday's 22-8 loss to Somerville.

Following Bradley's touchdown, AJ Marino added two-more with a rushing conversion. Whittier led 8-7 after the first quarter, but Somerville came back with touchdowns in the second and third quarter to pull away.

Methuen qualifies

 

SOMERVILLE — There were some big numbers put up by the Methuen softball team Monday, but none more so than by senior catcher Kat LeFebre.

In the Rangers' 20-4 romp over Somerville, LeFebre not only was 3 for 3 with four runs scored but had a grand slam homer for four RBIs, giving her 102 RBIs for her career. She passed 100 hits for her career several weeks ago.
