Jenna Solimine led the way with 12 points as Haverhill's girls ended their season on a high note, whipping Somerville 67-42. "We played well — it was a good way to finish," said coach Melissa Tarpy. 

Methuen sophomore Kayla Albee scored a career-high 21 points as the Rangers beat Somerville 57-40.

Whittier Tech's girls improved to 6-1 with a 53-37 victory over Somerville. Freshman Grace Efosa had a carerr-high 19 points and Hannah Dalton sparked the defnse with four steals.

It was a nice varsity debut for Georgetown junior Grace MacDonald, leading all scorers with 17 points in a 47-43 loss ro Somerville.

Alondra Davila was everywhere, getting seven digs, eight kills, six aces and seven digs in Lawrence's 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-11) game sweep of Somerville. Brianna Rivera had 12 assists, Brandey Rodriguez had four aces and Natalie Navarro had 16 passes.

NORTH READING — Matt McCarthy was a one-man wrecking crew as North Reading whipped Somerville 41-22.

McCarthy (10 carries, 174 yards) rushed for four scores, returned the second-half kickoff 83 yards to the house and added a two-point rush. 

SOMERVILLE — Kevin Bradley Jr. scored on a two-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, but that's all the offense Whittier could muster in Friday's 22-8 loss to Somerville.

Following Bradley's touchdown, AJ Marino added two-more with a rushing conversion. Whittier led 8-7 after the first quarter, but Somerville came back with touchdowns in the second and third quarter to pull away.

SOMERVILLE — There were some big numbers put up by the Methuen softball team Monday, but none more so than by senior catcher Kat LeFebre.

In the Rangers' 20-4 romp over Somerville, LeFebre not only was 3 for 3 with four runs scored but had a grand slam homer for four RBIs, giving her 102 RBIs for her career. She passed 100 hits for her career several weeks ago.

Jacob Wallace, Nick Panzini, Brendan O'Shea and Andre Lopez each had triples in Methuen's 14-2 victory over Somerville. Jordan Perdomo lead off the game with a home run and got the win on the mound.

Krystal Morales connected on a two-run home run and a solo homer as Lawrence crushed Somerville 19-10.
