Georgetown's girls won its second straight game and just third of the season, 38-32 over Malden. Junior Emma Dunleavy led all scorers with 14 points.

The Haverhill High School crew team had a strong performance at the MPSRA Fall State Championship regatta in Lowell Sunday.  The girls came in sixth in the 1st Novice Girls 8+ event.  The boys came in an impressive fourth in the 1st Novice Boys 8+ event. 

MALDEN — In a rough season for Lawrence, junior Miguel Camacho has emerged as a bright spot.

Lawrence volleyball finished off its 9-10 regular season with a game sweep of Malden in which Brandey Rodriguez had seven kills and Vielka Sanchez had 12 assists.

Lawrence field hockey picked up its first win of the season, beating Malden 4-2 thanks to a hat trick by Janelys Torres.

Methuen volleyball earned its seventh win in a row with a 3-0 game sweep of Malden behind 11 kills from Abby Sullivan. The Rangers had a season-high 19 kills.

Julia Perrone went the distance on the mound for North Reading, striking out eight and only allowing one run in the Hornets win over Malden. She also drove in Courtney Luker with a hard single up the middle in the bottom of the fifth inning to help out her cause.

Krystal Morales had a 2 for 2 day while driving in a pair of runs to lead Lawrence to a victory over Malden. She is now 6 for 6 in the team's last two games with a total of three doubles and four RBI's. Taylor Alakel threw five innings of no-hit ball and struck out two for the Lancers on Wednesday.

Tied at 2-2, it all came down to the first singles match between Lawrence and Malden. Despite a diving effort from Lawrence's No. 1 Imann Grullon, he lost in a three set tiebreaker 3-6, 6-2, 6-7 (4-7). This is the third time this season Lawrence has lost a match 3-2.

• Methuen freshman Nyah Mazzone and sophomores Lynette Urena and Kelsie McGonagle all had three hits as the Rangers blasted Malden 14-0. Urena had a home run and five RBIs and both Mazzone and McGonagle has three RBIs. Mazzone also scored three times.
