Crew team places

 

The Haverhill High School crew team had a strong performance at the MPSRA Fall State Championship regatta in Lowell Sunday.  The girls came in sixth in the 1st Novice Girls 8+ event.  The boys came in an impressive fourth in the 1st Novice Boys 8+ event.

Krystal Morales had a 2 for 2 day while driving in a pair of runs to lead Lawrence to a victory over Malden. She is now 6 for 6 in the team's last two games with a total of three doubles and four RBI's. Taylor Alakel threw five innings of no-hit ball and struck out two for the Lancers on Wednesday.

So close yet again

Tied at 2-2, it all came down to the first singles match between Lawrence and Malden. Despite a diving effort from Lawrence's No. 1 Imann Grullon, he lost in a three set tiebreaker 3-6, 6-2, 6-7 (4-7). This is the third time this season Lawrence has lost a match 3-2.

  • Methuen freshman Nyah Mazzone and sophomores Lynette Urena and Kelsie McGonagle all had three hits as the Rangers blasted Malden 14-0. Urena had a home run and five RBIs and both Mazzone and McGonagle has three RBIs. Mazzone also scored three times.
