Colby Ingraham opened the game with a single, stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on Ryan Browner's infield out. The run was all Georgetown righty Pat Slack would need in a 1-0 Royals win at Ipswich yesterday. Slack nearly went the distance in a six-hitter as the senior Browner came one for a one-out save, striking out the final hitter to preserve the Royal win.

North Andover sophomore Jess Bramanti, who was a JV player last year, continued her fine season with two hits and three RBIs in the Knights' 10-4 victory over Ipswich. Angela Logomasini added a two-run homer.

Ninth hitter Peter Markowksky drove in North Andover's first run and broke the game open with a two-run double in a seven-run third to spark the Knights' 10-1, five-inning win over Ipswich.

Patrick Irwin won the triple jump with a 42-6 3/4, shattering his old personal best of 41-4, as North Andover swept Ipswich (89-56) and Amesbury (102-43).

Julia Mehlman was a triple winner and Katie McManus broke her own school record in the shot put as North Andover blitzed Amesbury. Alexandra Layne had a big day in the throws. Danielle Poto won the 2-mile in a personal best time.

Pam Coufos was dominating with her second-half draw controls as North Andover snapped a 6-6 halftime tie to beat Georgetown 14-9. Michelle Martin anchored the defense and Olivia Boudreau scored six goals.

Pentucket's softball team won its second straight, 10-8 over Ipswich. Nicole Chevalier (3 for 3) led the offense with three of the Sachems' 15 hits and three RBIs. Sydney Snow had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Pentucket mustered up a dramatic finish in its 6-5 victory over Ipswich. With two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, sophomore Bobby Barry (three hits and two RBIs) singled and stole second base. Junior Jake Greaney (two hits and two RBIs) followed with a base hit up the middle. A hustling Barry beat the throw to the plate on a close play to give the Sachems the walk-off win.

North Reading's Ryley Warnock delivered his second sharp mound effort of the year, shutting out Ipswich, 3-0 yesterday. Warnock fanned 11 Tigers and walked two in a five-hitter. Mike Brandano's RBI single keyed the Hornets' three-run sixth.
