  St. John's Prep's wrestling team blasted Malden Catholic 59-3 to wrap up its 14th straight Catholic Conference title. Among the eight wrestlers who had pins for the Eagles (29-1), who have won 59 straight league meets, was 170-pounder David Kou of Andover.

The St. John's Prep wrestling team swept a quad, which included big wins over good Shawsheen (43-15) and West Springfield  (37-21) teams to improve to 27-1. North Andover freshman Ian Butterbrodt was 3-0 on the day at 182 and is now 30-1 on the year.

The Prep, Masco dominate

A strong, deep St. John's Prep squad placed three of the top four skiiers to handily win its opener over North Andover, 103-32, despite Nate Miceli's seventh-place finish. The Knights recovered to beat Manchester Essex. Andover rode the efforts of Tom Suglia and Adam Risman to a split, beating Austin Prep and falling to Masconomet. Despite the best efforts of Owen Kallery, Haverhill lost to Austin Prep in its season opener.

The St. John's Prep golf team showed that the Division 1 North state title will again go through Danvers, dropping Central Catholic, 225-245. Nick Pandelena fired a one-under par 35 for medalist honors at Salem Country Club. Joe Leavitt was the low Raider at 37.
