Jackson Morton scored 12 and Ryan Morris added 10 as Sanborn won for the just the second time this year, following a 50-40 decision at Epping.  The Indians last won on Dec. 30.

Katie Savard recorded eight points and nine rebounds while Elyse Law had nine points and 13 rebounds to lead Sanborn girls basketball 36-20 over Epping. 

All 13 players scored at least one point in Pelham's 65-21 boys basketball victory over Sanborn. The visiting Indians were shut out in both the first and third quarters.

It took a record-breaking time to keep Steven Hammar from victory.

The Pelham runner placed second in the 1,500 meter run at the Division 2 state championships at Dartmouth, bested by Bow's Jonathan Vinnenberg in a time of 4:06.50 that was almost five seconds faster than the two-year-old record he broke. Hammar ran a personal-best 4:15.54 as runner-up.

Windham freshman Kristen Tilley led local finishers in yesterday's Division 2 state championship meet at Dartmouth, placing fourth in the 600 with a school-record 1:42.69. Teammate Kate Farrell came in fifth in the 3,000 in 11:11.82, also a school record by over a second for the senior.

Windham's Patrick Fitzgerald placed second in the 55 meter hurdles (8.1 seconds) and fourth in the long jump (19-8 1/4) to led area Division 2 athletes at their qualifying session at UNH.

Elyse Law took a pass headed towards the basket, hit the layup and added the free throw with just under a minute to play to lead Sanborn to a 34-28 victory over Newmarket. The Indians rallied back from a 10-point deficit in the third.

Cassie Nickerson's savvy play at end of the first half, swiping Raymond High's rolling inbounds pass and driving for a layup, highlighted Sanborn's 38-28 victory.

After a scoreless first half, Mike Surles sank six second-half 3-pointers, including four in the fourth quarter, as Sanborn stormed back from 21 down in the third quarter and took a 2-point lead. But Raymond rebounded for a 70-68 win.
